Brotherhood Draft Board, Graded
Before the draft we used 45 years of Brotherhood data to project every 2025-26 prospect. On June 24 and 25, three Blue Devils heard their names. Here is what we said, what actually happened, and where the history held up.
What happened
Cameron Boozer went third overall to the Memphis Grizzlies, behind AJ Dybantsa to Washington and Darryn Peterson to Utah. Isaiah Evans was taken 33rd by the Brooklyn Nets and traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Maliq Brown went 44th to the San Antonio Spurs. Boozer’s selection extended Duke’s streak of consecutive years with at least one freshman drafted to 13.
The other five prospects on this board never reached the draft. Patrick Ngongba II, Cayden Boozer, Dame Sarr and Caleb Foster all withdrew and returned to Duke; Nikolas Khamenia transferred to UConn. Jon Scheyer has now produced 12 draft selections in his first four years, more than any other program over that span.
We had him at #1-2 with 98% confidence. He went third to Memphis, behind AJ Dybantsa (BYU) to Washington and Darryn Peterson (Kansas) to Utah — the two prospects who had been ahead of him on most boards since high school. "Lottery lock" was never in doubt; the range was one slot optimistic.
The best Duke freshman stat line since Zion Williamson. His 22.5/10.2 with 21 double-doubles exceeds every Brotherhood one-and-done except Zion's scoring. ACC POY + ROY as a freshman places him in the exclusive Zion/Bagley/Okafor/Flagg club.
