2012-13

30-6

The Resurrection of Ryan Kelly. Senior Mason Plumlee becomes ACC Player of the Year. Freshman Quinn Cook runs the point. Duke beats four top-5 teams and goes 16-0 at home. Then Ryan Kelly misses 13 games with a foot injury and returns to score 36 against Miami in one of the greatest individual performances in Cameron Indoor history. “One for the ages,” K says. “Probably as good a performance as any player has had — a Duke player has had — in Cameron.” Seth Curry drops 29 on Michigan State to reach the Elite Eight. But Louisville’s full-court press, Kevin Ware’s horrifying broken leg, and a 17-2 Cardinals run end the season 85-63 in Indianapolis. Plumlee goes out with 17 and 12 in his final game. Three seniors, three futures, one last ride together.
